Cash Advance Limit vs. Available Credit
Important: Your cash advance limit is separate from your total available credit.
| Concept | Example |
|---|---|
| Total credit limit | $10,000 |
| Available credit (after spending) | $7,500 |
| Cash advance limit | $2,500 |
| Available for cash advance | Min of available credit and cash advance limit |
If you have spent $8,000 of $10,000 limit, your available credit is $2,000 — even if your cash advance limit is $2,500, you can only advance $2,000.
Cards with No Cash Advance Fee
A few cards stand out for having no cash advance fees:
- Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive Card (check current terms)
- USAA credit cards (for military members — 3% max fee, often lower)
- Some credit union credit cards
These are exceptions — most major cards charge 3–5%.
